Make every drop measurable.
FlowVexa is a Canadian engineering and technology company based in Calgary, Alberta. We digitize water, wastewater and industrial assets and make their data accessible, for faster analysis, remote control and easier decision-making.
Engineering experience meets digital transformation
Across Canada, treatment plants, lift stations, reservoirs and distribution networks are being asked to do more with the assets they already have: report in real time, run with fewer site visits, cope with long winters and long distances, and give managers and regulators numbers they can trust. Much of the instrumentation and control needed to do that is already installed. What is usually missing is the link between the pieces.
FlowVexa was created to close that gap: to digitize the assets already in place and make their data accessible. We come from the process side of water: membranes, clarifiers, aeration basins, dosing skids and pumps. We pair that with the digital layer: PLCs, SCADA, IIoT gateways, LoRaWAN, dashboards and analytics. Because we understand both, we can tell a data problem from a process problem and recommend the right fix for each.
- Process knowledge first, technology second
- Integration with the PLC and SCADA systems you already run
- Open, standards-based communication: Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, MQTT
- Training, so your own team owns the result

Every basin, pump and valve already tells a story. We digitize it and make it readable.
Five disciplines, one digitalization practice
Digitalization done properly touches the process, the controls, the network and the people who read the data. Yet digital water, water engineering, automation, smart technologies and training are usually bought from different suppliers and joined together late. We bring them together from the start, so every digitized asset is designed to work as part of one system.

Digital Water
We digitize physical water assets by connecting them to sensors, communications, data platforms, dashboards and analytics. Flow, pressure, level, water quality, pump status and energy are brought into one view and organized into the KPIs and alarms that operations teams actually use. The data stays within reach, ready to analyze and act on, whether the asset sits inside a plant fence or at a remote reservoir a long drive away.
- Real-time & remote monitoring
- Smart metering
- Water quality
- KPI dashboards
- Digital O&M

Automation & Control
PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, telemetry and industrial control. We extend and integrate the control systems you already run rather than starting over, and open them up to remote monitoring and control.

Water & Wastewater
Water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial water, desalination, reverse osmosis and water reuse, grounded in decades of plant-level experience: the process knowledge that tells us what is worth digitizing.

Smart Technologies
IIoT, LoRaWAN, smart metering, smart sensors, RFID asset tracking, analytics, AI and predictive maintenance: the tools that digitize assets, applied where they solve a real operational problem.

FlowVexa Academy
Professional training, technical workshops, online learning and customized corporate programs that prepare teams to run and improve both the process and its digital layer.
Digitize the asset. Digitalize the decision.
Digitalization is not one product. It is a chain of layers, and it is only as strong as its weakest link. We design and integrate each layer so that a reading taken at a remote tank becomes a clear, trusted number in front of the person who needs it, in time to analyze it and act.
Open protocols
Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3 and MQTT keep data portable between vendors and platforms, so an investment made today is not locked to a single supplier tomorrow.
Existing systems first
Gateways and edge devices read from installed PLCs, RTUs and meters without disturbing the control logic that keeps the plant running safely.
Security at every layer
Network segmentation, access control and secure remote connectivity are part of the first drawing, not an afterthought once the system is live.
Understand. Connect. Analyze. Improve.
Every digitalization engagement follows the same discipline. It keeps the work anchored to the operational problem and stops technology from becoming the goal.
Understand
We start with the process, the equipment, the existing infrastructure and the operational challenge. What is the facility trying to achieve, where does it struggle, and what data already exists?
Connect
Sensors, meters, equipment, PLCs, SCADA and other sources are brought together over the right mix of wired, cellular and LoRaWAN communications for the site.
Analyze
Raw readings become trends, KPIs, alarms and actionable information: normalized RO performance, pump efficiency, energy per cubic metre, dosing accuracy.
Improve
Reliability, efficiency, maintenance and decision-making get better, and the loop starts again with a deeper understanding of the process.
Do not replace what works. Connect it, extend it and make the data more useful. The FlowVexa integration principle
Many Canadian facilities run PLCs and SCADA systems that still do their job well. Replacing them to get better data is expensive, disruptive and often unnecessary. We look first at what can be read, bridged or extended, digitizing what is already there, and only recommend new hardware where the existing system genuinely cannot deliver.
Built for the places water does real work
Municipal utilities, industrial plants and energy operators work under different rules and economics, but they share the same need: reliable water, measured properly and managed with data that is accessible and trusted.
In Canada, that often means assets spread across large, cold and sometimes remote territory, from small rural and Indigenous community systems to industrial sites hours from the nearest service centre. Digitized assets, remote monitoring and long-range telemetry are practical answers to that geography, and they make regulatory reporting and operator workload easier to manage.

Port Sudan Water Initiative
Alongside our work in Canada, FlowVexa is involved in developing water-sector opportunities in Sudan, including a proposed 50,000 m³/day seawater reverse osmosis project in Port Sudan. The initiative builds on earlier professional involvement in Port Sudan's water infrastructure and on years of desalination experience in Saudi Arabia.
Red Sea feedwater is typically warm and highly saline, which places real demands on pretreatment design, membrane selection, energy recovery and product-water quality control. The scope under development covers:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Equipment supply
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Supporting infrastructure

Practical approach
Technology must solve a real operational problem. If it does not, we will say so.
Insights for a changing water industry
Practical articles on the technologies and practices reshaping water, wastewater and industrial operations.
A practical roadmap to digital water: start with the problem, not the platform
Digital water programs rarely stall because the technology is poor. A phased approach keeps the operational problem at the centre.
LoRaWAN for water utilities: where it fits alongside SCADA
Long range and low power make LoRaWAN a strong fit for remote tanks, meters and pressure points, as a complement to SCADA rather than a replacement.
From reactive to predictive: condition monitoring for pumps
Pumps usually signal trouble before they fail. Current, run hours, pressure and vibration, read against the right baseline, give earlier warning.
